Romans 9 | Part 2

If you have not watched Romans 9 | Part 1, do so first! This section covers Romans 9:13-18.

In this section, Paul begins to respond to an objection which questions God’s justice with regards to how he has dealt with the nation of Israel. Although I addressed all of the questions below in some degree in the video, I have some additional thoughts below that may be helpful to clarify some things. Again, watch the video first!

Why does Paul bring in the example of Pharaoh in verse 17?

A closer look at the word “Harden.” What does it mean?

Does one being hardened mean one no longer has an opportunity to turn back to God?

Does the concept of God having mercy on whom he desires contradict the idea that God grants mercy to those who have faith?
